To ensure its longevity and preserve the beauty of your piece, please follow these care instructions:

  1. Food-Safe Usage: The epoxy side of your serving board is fully cured and food-safe, making it suitable for serving meats and cheeses. However, avoid using sharp knives on the epoxy side, as both the epoxy and wood can become marred.

  1. Cutting on the Board: To utilize the board for cutting, place a kitchen towel on your counter and place the serving board, art faced down, on the towel. Make your cuts on the plain wood side of the board to protect the art. This will preserve the intricate design of your “ocean waves.”

  1. Hand Washing: To maintain the serving board’s quality, always hand wash it using warm water and mild, gentle soap. Avoid using abrasive scouring pads or harsh cleaners, as they could affect the epoxy finish and wood. After washing, pat the board dry with a clean cloth. Avoid letting the board air dry or soaking in water, as prolonged exposure to moisture can harm the wood.

  1. Oiling and Waxing: To keep the wood looking fresh and to prevent it from drying out, reapply mineral oil, butcher’s block oil, or any other food-safe oil or wax. Apply the oil or wax in a thin layer, allowing it to be absorbed by the wood. This should be done approximately three times per year or as needed, depending on the frequency of use.

  1. Storage: Store your serving board in a dry and well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and humidity. Proper storage will help maintain the board’s shape and finish.

  1. Avoid Extreme Conditions and Harsh Chemicals:  Do not expose the serving board to excessive heat, cold, or sudden temperature changes, and refrain from using harsh chemicals, solvents, or abrasive cleaners on the serving board, as they can damage the epoxy finish and wood.
